About Us

We are Jake Lammi & Suzie Marlow, and together we have more than 15 years of detection dog experience. We live in Southern Colorado with our four detection dogs: Zilly, Ranger, Skye & Nelson.

Our dog teams are true veterans of conservation detection dog work. We have spent many years and many miles searching the deserts, mountains and jungles across the world in the name of conservation. All of our dogs were rescued from various shelters across the U.S. and they all had one thing in common - an undying desire to play ball and their need for a job. Once deemed unadoptable, these diamonds in the ruff have truly been able to shine for conservation.

We started our careers at the University of Washington’s Conservation Canines program, where we were some of the first dog teams consistently searching at major wind facilities. We also lived remotely and gained extensive experience detecting scat from many species, specializing in Mountain Lion and Fisher. We even sniffed through Nepal & Vietnam with the UW under the USAID-funded Wildlife Crime Tech Challenge.

After UW, we co-founded C2AN’s Rogue Detection Teams, where we continued to conduct field work across the U.S. This included an intensive backpacking Sierra Nevada Red Fox project throughout Yosemite National Park. We were also on the leading edge of trials in detecting plant diseases for the Cherry and Wine industry in Washington state.

We came from two fast-paced world-renown conservation detection dog programs and we will continue to use our extensive experience to produce excellent work for your research.
